Health
Our strict health protocols help keep sick children at home in order for them to quickly recover and prevent others from getting sick. We check for signs of illness upon their arrival on a daily basis. Our infirmary is staffed by a loving and capable nurse who also visits the classrooms to make sure students and teachers are following our health protocols.
Food and Nutrition
At Hábitat Learning Community®, guided by our culinary atelierista, a bilingual and experienced cook with extensive knowledge about our educational philosophy, children participate in preparing meals and thereby learn about nutrition, different foods and ingredients.
Hábitat has its own chef and kitchen staff, who prepare our meals daily. The meals are endorsed by a professional nutritionist and include a wide range of organic ingredients, some which are sourced from our campus gardens, offering the children the opportunity to grow their own food and learn about the life cycle of plants.
The lunch hour at Hábitat Learning Community is an opportunity for children and adults to interact while enjoying and learning about food: its nutritional value, traditions, textures, aromas, colors, and flavors. The children participate in setting the table, serving the foods, and cleaning up after lunch.
